He came to Jakarta in 1993 and works as a grave digger at the Kampung Kandang cemetery. Now he and his three sons are among the very few willing to bury the corpses of anonymous people. Mr.Arno studied his art with world renown photographers and printers. Most of them working in the tradition of the great Ansel Adams, whose black and white photographs of the American West are legend. The school will provide classes for advanced students and requires a portfolio of at least 5 prints for enrollment assessment. We had the opportunity to ask some questions to Mr. Arno. In the interview (s. below) he will share some thoughts about photography as well as give some useful information about the school (sorry for the noisy background, it seemed that all the photographic society Jakarta was present).
