Gratiane de Moustier’s Photos of Domestic Workers in Indonesia – “In her first major photo project, Ms. de Moustier followed those Indonesian girls from their training camp on the island of Java to Hong Kong, where they join 300,000 maids cooking, washing, cleaning and caring for real babies. And too often — like maids in Malaysia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and elsewhere — they encounter a singular form of domestic violence: the abuse of maids.”

I am often shocked by the way some human beings treat other fellow human beings.
We are a bizarre species indeed. This photo essay shows dedication on the part of the photographer Gratiane. The images are also an expression of her talent.
Looking forward to seeing more of her work. But hopefully I will not get depressed in seeing more images of our some times heart less world.

I am an Indonesian woman who’s mom went to Malyasia for TKW a few years ago.
    This is an impresive story..
I’m so glad my mom is now back home..
Even she never got hurt from her employer but I’m very happy that she is with us again..
I was sad when I read this.. so touching… these girls and the women who never know about electronic tools and they must work with that. gggggooooodddd….
and long hours they must spend to work with the «boss» family..

They think working out side of the country will bring them alot of money..
but they do not know what they get them self in to..
    hope mereka kuat…
