Homeland - Origin and Alienation

With their photographs and film sequences of sculptures in nature, the artists Faozan Rizal and Katia Engel convey a peculiar atmosphere. The sculptures, placed in different landscapes, present holes and views - forms that to the artists represent a metaphor for origin and transience.
Linking up to this atmosphere, a performance will be shown at the vernissage using photographs of a volcanic lake as stage design. The performance moves on the cutting edge between the need for integration, starting anew and the feeling of not fitting in, of being alienated in this seemingly untouched nature.
