Street Photography: Documenting the Human Condition - Part One of Three from Chris Weeks on Vimeo.

Street photography is still alive. In Jakarta unposed is a website dedicated to this fascinating field of photography (Just not so easy to walk the streets in JKT without breaking one’s leg). World renown masters of photography like Henri Cartier-Bresson set the standards very high in this genre. These videos are not so much about the results — even a lot of good pictures are shown — but more about the approach of taking pictures like ‘a fly on the wall’, seemingly being invisible to the subjects photographed. It’s probably a nice experience for beginners to actually see how photogs take their pictures on the street, among all the people around them, without getting noticed so much. Whether you really need a special camera to do this — as Chris is emphasizing — or not, is up to you to decide. Try it out for yourself, it’s ‘awwwesome’ as they say.
